OWH Sketch Challenge #156

The sketch sample at OWH is quite striking this week. Pink and black are so nice together. I decided to carry that color scheme over with the addition of some fresh green. The focal point is embossed water color paper colored with Distress Markers. The squares are colored and the lighter colored areas are runoff from spraying the piece with water. The sentiment stamp is from Ali Edwards via Technique Tuesday. My favorite part of the card is how it almost looks like the sentiment was cut out since it goes from black to black.

Papertrey Ink recently had a black background challenge. I am too late to link up to that challenge but was intrigues by it. This card is my try.

According to Operation Write Home’s great Design Bootcamp, these two cards follow a complimentary color scheme. There will be a new Bootcamp post once each month so keep an eye out.

I like pink and black paper too. The second card’s flower really pops with the black background. The sentiment is perfect for either card.
