Top 10 Cards of 2012

Happy 2013! May you have a wonderful year ahead and spread some happiness by crafting for others.

Today Operation Write Home challenged us card makers to post the cards we’ve made over the last year that we feel are our Top 10 of the year. Mine represent trying new techniques or styles as well as just plum liking them.

Do you have a crafty goal for the year? Mine is to reach a total of 3,000 cards donated to Operation Write Home, to complete the self-paced online classes in which I am enrolled, to complete a beautiful Project Life 2013 album, to master machine embroidery and most of all–to not let crafting (or checking out endless inspiration on Pinterest) take the place of things and people who are more important in my life.  Balance.

One of the areas that I most want to be more disciplined about is my daily Bible reading. I do well with my before work routine, but tank on the weekends/vacation days. To help me be accountable, I selected a new plan that fits my interests best, printed it and framed it.  (There are several to choose from here.) Now I can use my Vis-a-Vis wet erase pen to check off my daily reading and easily see how I am doing.

Awesome cards and such wonderful goals! I agree that the finding the “balance” thing is one to work for. I could stay in my craft studio, without talking to a soul, for hours. I think the thin, scrappy-strips card is my fave of these. Happy New Year!
